Running a stand on match day

Taking orders from the crowd, sending a runner, and getting paid.

For Food and drink stands

Your stand screen is My stand in the portal. It is built for one hand and a hot grill: big buttons, no menus to dig through.

Before the day

  • Check your menu and prices are right
  • Add your runners — the people who carry orders out. They do not need accounts; you just name them
  • Know your zones — the parts of the ground people order from

When an order comes in

It appears at the top of your screen with a number, what they want, where they are sitting and what to shout for them.

Move it along as you go: received → on the grill → on its way → delivered. Each step messages the customer, so nobody has to come and ask.

Sending the runner

Tap Hand-off and you get a card to show the runner: the order number, the name, the zone and the landmark, and what to collect.

If the runner is already out in the crowd, send the slip instead and it goes to their phone as a message.

Running out of something

Switch off the single item. The wors goes, the chicken stays, and nobody orders what you cannot make.

Closing altogether — a break, or done for the day — switch the whole stand off. Existing orders still show; new ones stop.

Money

Mark each order paid when the runner brings the money back, and say whether it was cash or card. It is recorded against the order, so at the end of the day the total is already counted.
