Posting to the market

Selling something, advertising a service, or putting an event on the village calendar.

For Residents

Anybody who signs in can post. Everything is read by a village moderator before it appears — that is not a delay to work around, it is the reason the site is worth reading.

Sell something on the market

My posts → post a classified. Livestock, vehicles, property, furniture, services or household goods. Add a price if you have one, and a phone number if you want to be called rather than messaged.

Posts expire after 60 days, so the market does not fill with things that sold months ago. Mark it sold when it goes and it comes down at once.

Never pay up front. Meet in a public place, see the goods, and report anything that looks like a scam. A reported post comes down immediately while a moderator checks it.

Put an event on the calendar

Add an event from the home page or your posts. A pitso, a funeral, a church service, a school day, a tournament.

  • What is happening — the title people will read
  • What kind and which village
  • When it starts, and when it ends if that matters
  • Where — the hall, the ground, the church

It waits for a village moderator before it reaches the calendar. An event is the one thing people plan a whole day around, so an invented one costs somebody a trip.

Nominate somebody for Bana ba Motse

Somebody from your village doing well elsewhere — studying, working, playing, serving. Bana ba Motse is where the village keeps that.

Nothing is published until the person themselves agrees. You give us a way to reach them; we ask them; only then does anything appear. Their contact details are never shown to anybody and are deleted once they have answered, either way.

While you wait

My posts shows everything you have sent and where it stands. If something is declined you will be told why.

If you cannot see My posts at all, your account does not have the resident role yet. Say so on your Profile and somebody will phone you.
